12 Months Prior
Begin looking through travel sites, magazines, talk to other couples to select some locations that interest you.
10 Months Prior
Map out your tentative budget and travel dates. Consider whether to leave the day after the ceremony or delay it a day due to likelihood of early morning flight departures.
Schedule an appointment with your Travel Agent to get rates and narrow your selections.
9 Months Prior
Book your trip with your Travel Agent and pay all deposits. Find out if any visas, immunizations or other special circumstances apply to your honeymoon.
Consider a honeymoon registration through your Travel Agent so that family/friends wishing to contribute towards your trip or provide a resort amenity can do so.
6 Months Prior
Obtain passports and any other paperwork you will need for travel.
2-3 Months Prior
Determine any activities such as spa treatments, special dinners, excursions etc at your destination or on your cruise, that you would like to schedule and pre-pay.
Provide the information and payment to your Travel Agent
Check with your Travel Agent to see if you need to exchange currency prior to travel.
Make final Payment on your Honeymoon package.
Get any immunizations needed for your trip. if planning to do scuba certification at resort, get a Physician’s statement approving you to dive to take to resort.
1 Month Prior
Make a packing list and check baggage rules for your air carrier. Buy any luggage that you need.
Discuss dress codes at your destination with your Travel Agent.
2-3 Weeks Prior
Obtain your travel documents from your Travel agent. Re-verify baggage limitations from your airline.
Make sure your passports, Visas and other paperwork is in order. Exchange currency if needed for your destination.
Give emergency contact info and itinerary to family. If you plan to call home arrange cell service or prepaid phone cards.
2 Days Prior
If your resort offers a honeymoon package or amenities, make a copy of your license to take with you to resort. Pack, label luggage inside and out. Refill any prescriptions, get film, batteries. All valuables, medication etc should be in your carry on luggage. Confirm transportation to airport. Notify your credit card companies of your travel dates.
1 Day Prior
Reconfirm flights, Charge cel phones, batteries and other electronic devices.
