World's Top Places to Kiss

If romance is on your mind and you’re looking for an unforgettable place to cuddle up with the one you love, we’ve got you covered with some of the world’s most romantic destinations where you can smooch away in pure bliss.

Paris, France
Ah, Paris, the City of Light and love – no surprise it often takes our top spot for most romantic destination. While kissing beneath the Eiffel Tower inevitably comes to mind for many love-struck couples around the world, Paris is packed with oodles of other romantic locales perfect for enjoying some well-needed PDA. If you’re aiming for an intimate setting, Canal Saint-Martin’s enchanting tree-line waterway is almost overlooked by tourists during the off-peak months. And the Pont des Arts, a wooden pedestrian bridge leading to the Louvre Museum, offers a postcard-worthy view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. If you can reserve a table near the windows of the exquisite Maison Blanche restaurant, located on the top floor of an old theater near the Champs-Élysées, you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of Paris and Eiffel Tower.

Rick’s Café in Casablanca, Morocco
Rick’s Café, the mythical saloon from the 1942 film, Casablanca, was reimagined and eventually transformed from celluloid to wood, glass, and plaster. And all it needs now is a great love story starring you! Set in an old court-yard-style mansion built against the wall of the Old Medina of Casablanca, the restaurant and piano bar is filled with architectural and decorative details reminiscent of the film. Guests become steeped in the elegant atmosphere and come to feel as though they are in the film. Curved arches, a sculpted bar, balconies, balustrades as well as dramatic beaded and brass lighting cast luminous shadows on white walls. Go ahead, place yourselves in the spotlight and steal a kiss or two while cozying up with another over evening cocktails and live jazz music.

“The Kissing Bridge” in West Montrose, Ontario
The West Montrose Covered Bridge was constructed in 1881 and is best known for being the last remaining historical covered bridge in Ontario. Covered bridges such as these were known as “kissing bridges” since couples would be out of sight as they passed through the bridge. While the original bridge was constructed entirely of wood, in a series of repairs and restorations the bridge uses a combination of materials, but retains its original form. In 1960 the bridge was recognized as a historic site by the Ontario Archaeological and Historic Sites Board and was designated as a heritage site in 1975. The bridge is part of The Kissing Bridge Trailway, which travels for 28 miles through rural communities, rivers, and wetlands of southern Ontario along the right-of-way of a former railway.

Juliet’s Balcony in Verona, Italy
Wherefore art thou Romeo? The power of storytelling should never be underestimated. Every year, hundreds of thousands of travelers trek to Verona to see the balcony where Juliet stood while Romeo declared his love (though it's very possible that Romeo and Juliet were only figments of Shakespeare's imagination). This is the most powerful love story in western culture and we all want to live a little part of its dream – though not its tragic ending. The house dates from the 13th century and the family coat of arms can still be seen on the wall. A slight problem is that the balcony was added in the 20th century. But that's of no matter to the hundreds of girls who every year step out onto it and gaze seeking their Romeo down below.

Lover's Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
A jewel of Cabo San Lucas’ coastline, the gorgeous Lover’s Beach is framed by evocatively eroded granite rocks that date to 30 million years ago and it is only accessible by water. Bathed in waters from the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of California, its crystal clear waters and wide diversity in animal life allows couples to enjoy an underwater adventure: a natural aquarium with innumerable species of tropical fish of different shades and sizes; sea lions and inoffensive mantas that swim in front of your eyes at the rhythm of nature. And yes, the neighboring Divorce Beach is equally beautiful and accessible by walking through a gap in the rocks to the Pacific Ocean side. Lover’s and Divorce Beaches are lightly populated in the morning, and both are perfect spots for DIY picnics.
