This voyage takes in the heart of Greenland amid the fantastic icebergs of Disko Bay before steaming north along the coast. We take you far off the beaten track to make landings in small settlements to experience the Inuit way of life, and at wild locations to explore nature, including a rare stop in Thule.

Greenland’s Arctic wilderness offers some of the most spectacular and unspoilt scenery on earth

Enjoy visiting towns like Kangerlussuaq, Sisimiut, Qeqertarsuaq and Uummannaq. See Greenland’s colossal icebergs calve into the sea, explore long fjords, lush meadows and encounter a wide variety of animal life. Greenland’s distinctive animals, the musk ox, reindeer, and narwhal are among those that you will have the greatest chance of seeing, especially when we are close to the expedition’s starting point, Kangerlussuaq.

As we sail further north, you will sense the immense power of nature and learn more about the remarkable people that inhabit this area, who have a tradition of hunting and fishing here that goes back over 4,000 years. Throughout the generations, the Inuit people have created and refined unique tools, including kayaks, harpoons, bird spears as well as high-quality clothing made of animal hide and fur. The fact that even compacted snow, in the form of an igloo, can be used as a temporary shelter, demonstrates this culture's extraordinary ability to utilise materials found in nature.

Wild and Majestic Nature

Explore rarely-visited settlements in the high north, such as Qaanaaq, Siorapaluk, Dundas and Upernavik. Then we sail into the magnificent Ilulissat icefjord, named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2004.

With daily landings and excursions, including kayaking, hiking and other activities, you will discover the authentic Greenland and meet the people who call it home.

This cruise is not suitable for guests using wheelchairs due to the possibility of using tender boats during embarkation or disembarkation.
